Horizon Surgery Center South located on the Baptist Medical Center South campus is an ambulatory surgery center in Jacksonville, Florida, focused on delivering high-quality, patient-centered outpatient care. This center provides Orthopedics, ENT, Plastics and Urology surgeries (2OR) and procedures (2PR). Role Summary
The Registered Nurse (RN) supports pre-op, PACU, and stepdown patient care. This position is responsible for assessing patients, delivering individualized nursing care, monitoring recovery, and collaborating with the surgical team to ensure safe, efficient procedures and optimal outcomes.
Schedule
Full-time, Monday–Friday
No nights, weekends, holidays, or on call
What You’ll Do
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in perioperative settings
Monitor patient status and respond to changes during recovery
Document accurately and communicate effectively with team members and patients
Maintain sterile environments and adhere to safety protocols
Support patient education and post-op instructions
What You’ll Bring
Graduate of an accredited RN program
Current RN license
At least 1 year of OR or perioperative nursing experience (within last 3–5 years)
Current BLS (ACLS required within 6 months)
Preferred: Member of the Association of Operating Room Nurses (AORN)
Strong clinical judgment, communication, and teamwork skills
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
